For the first time in its history in 2010 Polish Wind Energy Association will award the IREW Prize. IREW is a Polish acronym for Interestingly and Honestly about Wind Power. It will be received by an author or person of group of persons who will publish/ broadcast the most interesting and honest text/program featuring wind power.
The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) released on june 14 its forecast for wind power installations in 2010. It expects 10 gigawatt (GW) of new wind power capacity to be installed in the EU during 2010, taking total installed capacity by the end of 2010 to almost 85 GW - an increase of 13%.
The IREW2010 prize was awarded during the Gala Dinner accompanying the Vth PWEA “Wind Energy Market in Poland” Conference, held on 19 April 2010 in Hilton Hotel in Warsaw.
The purpose of the Prize was to distinguish a publication discussing issues related to wind power as a clean and renewable energy source in the most honest and interesting way. The prize could have been awarded to anyone who published or broadcast his material, complying with the Prize’s subject, during the 1.03.2009-31.03.2010 period.
The PWEA ”Wind Energy Market in Poland” Conference was held on 19 April in the Hilton Hotel in Warsaw. This was the fifth Conference organized by the Polish Wind Energy Association. 
We would like to inform that new PWEA logo was implemented.
Today, PWEA is associated with a modern, dynamic, environment-friendly organization. Therefore, we believe that it is a good moment to make such changes.
We kindly inform that from the information acquired by PWEA from the Pomorskie Province Marshal’s Office it stems that the province’s authorities approved the final version of the “Draft spatial development plan of the Pomorskie Province”. The spatial development plan of the Pomorskie Province constitutes an extension of the principles laid down in the national strategic documents and the Pomorskie Province development strategy.
We kindly inform you that call for papers of 5th PWEA conference “Wind energy market in Poland” has been just open!The date for applying for funds from Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment has been set.
The applications can be handed in from 16th March 2009 to 14th April 2009.
Action 9.4 is dedicated to support investments in renewable energy sources. Wind energy is one of the goals.742 million PLN have been allocated for that project.

Polish Wind Energy Association is a partner and coordinator responsible for the Eastern Europe’s part of the WINDBARRIERS project. The purpose of the project is to identify administrative and power engineering barriers related to connecting wind farms in Europe.
We are very pleased that such a big numer of participants took part in the Forum, almost 260. We thank the participants for coming to the Forum and taking part in the discussion.

Polish Wind Energy Association representatives participated in EWEC 2008, an annual EWEA’s event. This year’s edition took place on 31.03 – 03.04.2008 in Brussels Expo, Brussels.
