In February 2000 a “IInd Conference: Wind Power Development in Poland – a necessity or idealism?” was held in Kielce. The event was organized and managed by Vis Venti. The conference was acknowledged as event of the year in wind power. Round Table session with Mr. Jerzy Suchański, Chairmam of the Parliamentary Team for Restructuring Power Industry, and Mr. Jerzy Łatkowski, Deputy Director of Energetics Department of the Ministry of Economy, became a basis for building a platform for mutual understanding of the industry under the auspices of Vis Venti, known as the Wind Energy Forum.
On the 27th June a Wind Energy Forum session with Mr. Wiesław Wójcik, Vice – President of the Energy Regulatory Office, was held under the auspices of Vis Venti.
Board of the Association dispatched a letter to the Chairmen of appropriate Parliamentary Committees working on the amendment of the Energy Law informing on readiness to cooperate with appropriate legislation authorities insofar as renewables.
Together with the City Office of Szczecin we realized a project “Wind – a friendly energy the way to the EU” – printing and distribution of an information leaflet. The Association participated in plenary event for non – governmental organizations held on the 22nd September in Szczecin.
In November 2002 the Association Director participated in a scientific seminar organized by Ekofilia scientific circle, acting at Technical University of Wrocław. During the seminar a speech entitled “Wind power development in Poland in the context of actual technical and legal determinants” was given.
Wind Energy Forum meeting with Mr. Józef Sieniuć, Vice – President of PSE S.A.
On the 23rd of October 2002 the Wind Energy Forum and representatives of PSE S.A. agreed that in the future they will consult solutions that may affect development of market for producers of electric energy from wind turbines. Personal opinion of President J. Sieniuć concerning wind power despite all gives some hope for positive changes favoring the development of renewable energy sources in Poland.
Director of the Association become a member of the Markets Committee acting in the Polish Electric Energy Committee. Committee meetings are held once per month. In December the session was dedicated to “The position of the Polish Electric Energy Committee concerning development of renewable energy sources, with particular regard to wind power, within competitive market mechanisms”. A draft of the position was developed by Vis Venti. After Committee’s approval the position will act as an opinion – making material for amendments to the Energy Law concerning renewable energy sources.
